The bigger the story (preferably disaster story) then the bigger the impact it will have on the public and the more likely itl be shown in the news.

unexpected news is also a popular way of getting on the news.

Reference to elite nations are very intresting for the public too.

Reference to elite people (celebrities doing stupid things or dying always captivate the public when they see it on the news)

Cathederal Story:

music and SFX keep audience captivated and go well as background music

At beginning they show seperate 5 second clips of each of the news stories that are coming up in this news report. They do it in a way that the audience know whats coming up in the news report but dont know enough yet to change the channel.

When the narrator is explaing the story, video footage is shown which relates very closely to what the narrator is saying.
